Land Rover claims that the latest Range Rover is quieter than its predecessor. The 2007 model also received more precise Rover Range Rover steering to further improve its quiet performance.
Adaptations on the 2007 version include the 4.4-liter aspirated V-8 that produces 305 horsepower producing 325 pound-feet of torque. The supercharged version, on the other hand, uses a 4.2-liter V-8 that makes 400 horsepower that delivers 420 pound-feet of torque. Both V-8s are paired with a ZF six-speed automatic transmission. They are capable of generating much better power than the previous BMW Inline 6.
Rover used the latest advances in automotive technology to produce improved brakes, suspension, adaptive headlights, a lattice-shaped grille, a tire pressure monitor and the Terrain Response system. The latter includes a touch screen that works with the navigation, audio and phone systems. This touch screen transmits off-road traffic information to the driver. The Terrain Response system allows drivers to dial even when driving on snow and sand. This system adjusts the throttle, suspension and brakes to suit the terrain. The supercharged version also uses an electronic rear differential. In addition, the upgraded air suspension is equipped with an adjustable ride height.
Land Rover is famous for its unsurpassed off-road capabilities. These capabilities are combined with a totally new look thanks to its firmer monocoque bodywork with integrated chassis. The automaker also focused on modifications to the vents, wheels, and lights.
The SUV seats five occupants. Its elegant interior is upholstered in luxurious leather and wood. The interior is also equipped with three-zone automatic air conditioning, power seats and a good-sized leather steering wheel. The rear-seat DVD entertainment system, rear-view camera and special stainless steel pedals are incorporated into the supercharged version of the vehicle.
Regarding safety, the 2007 Range Rover has 8 standard airbags, anti-lock brakes and off-road dynamic stability control to secure the car’s occupants.
