You faced writer’s block and luckily got over it for the time being. But what if he attacks you again? Most likely it is. What if at that point none of the proven remedies work? And that? Here is a list of four surefire ways to keep writer’s block at bay.

1 trust your imagination

Set your horses free from imagination and see where it takes you. Let it run wild, don’t stop or logically interrupt it. There is no logic with imagination. He was born to be free, so set him free and trust him with all your heart. If you want you can guide it where you want it to go. And take it to the place you’ve always dreamed of going but couldn’t for whatever reason. Now get off the horse and sit quietly and see where you are. What is the place? Is it an island or a hill station or just a resort or the jungle? What is? What time of day is it and what are you doing? If it is an island, is there a home there? Explore the island and write your exploration. Write down everything you see, feel and imagine. And you’ll be surprised to find that you’ll never face writer’s block again.

2. Dispel your fear and write

The most common reason you experience writer’s block is fear or anxiety. Fear that what you write is not good. Dispel that fear by confronting and continuing to write. Don’t worry about what you’re writing. Do not stop reading what you have written, keep writing. And don’t be scared by the words or the feelings that inspire you. If they are moving, they will also move the readers. Feel the emotion with your words. And allow yourself to misspell at first. Then close it and do something else. Come back to it later and you’ll find the words flowing by themselves and soon you’ll be improvising your writing.

3. Read

Reading plays a crucial role in removing a writer’s block as it feeds hungry minds. Read everything you can get your hands on. Make reading a daily habit and you will find that you are always full of ideas. Reading can help both fiction and nonfiction writers. For fiction writers or storytellers, you can follow a clue to a scene or background to form your story, for non-fiction writers with little research, you can write about the human side of the story, all with the help of the reading.

Four. travel to faraway places

Everyone loves to travel but schedules, family responsibilities do not let you travel. Then what do you do? Let your mind travel to the faraway destinations you’ve always wanted to go to. In other words, meditate. Yes, meditation – lie down or sit in a comfortable position, close your eyes and free your mind from daily tensions, stress and see where it takes you. You will be surprised at the direction it takes.

Practice the above exercises daily and you should be able to avoid writer’s block most of the time. And if you still find yourself facing writer’s block, then learn how to take advantage of it.
