The title above is a quote from Einstein, and it is indeed excellent advice. Einstein was, of course, one of the greatest scientists who ever lived, if not the greatest. Much of modern physics is based on his discoveries. Later, however, he too became a philosopher of considerable importance and gave us much useful information about life. Quotes from him are seen everywhere. The above quote can be generalized to: learn from the past, live in the present, hope for the future. And if you do each of these, you will, in fact, be much happier.

What do we mean by each of the above statements? Let’s look at them in turn.

learn from yesterday

In fact, we should learn from the past, particularly from the mistakes we have made in the past. We certainly don’t want to make the same mistakes again. But we also don’t want to spend a lot of time thinking about these mistakes; they are finished and done, and there is nothing we can do about it except learn from them. So don’t keep repeating them and don’t obsess over them. If you do, they could become a source of frustration and could make you afraid of failing in the future. In short, they could make you feel very insecure, and this is of course something you don’t want. So learn from them and forget them.

Of course, it’s okay to think back to the past from time to time, savoring some of the joys you’ve experienced, but you need to get back to the present as quickly as possible. Do not develop a nostalgia for the past. This is a common fault with many people; they daydream about how happy their past life was and how dull and monotonous their current life is. Maybe your past life was better in some ways, but too many people magnify the happiness of their past life and forget about the struggles and sorrows they experienced. If your current life seems dull compared to your past life, it’s up to you to improve it.

Don’t keep longing for the past, today is much more important. It is the present, what is happening now, and you must make the most of it.

Live for today

Enjoy the day you are living. Wake up in the morning with confidence and the feeling that the day will be the best you have ever experienced. One of the best ways to do this is to relax and live each day as if it were your last.

Dale Carnegie encourages everyone to live in “airtight compartments of the day.” And it’s the best advice anyone could give you. As he puts it, “Half the beds in our hospitals are reserved for patients with nervous and mental disorders, patients who have collapsed under the crushing load of accumulated yesterdays and terrible tomorrows. Yet a vast majority of these people would be walking on the streets today, leading a happy and useful life, if they had heeded the words… “Living in watertight compartments from day to day.”

In other words: turn off the past. Close the future. Live for today! This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t prepare for the future; it means that you should not have any anxiety about the future. If you continually fret and worry about the future, you could end up in the madhouse.

So live one day at a time. Think of each new day as a new adventure, a new life. Tell yourself that this is going to be the best day of your life. One of the major tragedies in many people’s lives is that they keep procrastinating. In particular, they postpone life itself. They always tell themselves that life will be better: after they get married, when they retire, etc. And while they wait, life happens, and suddenly they discover that it has left them behind. They have forgotten, or perhaps never learned, how to enjoy life, or perhaps they have been too busy and have not had enough time. Life is in living, and it is important to learn this. “This day is our most important possession. Don’t throw it away. Take care of it. Live it. Enjoy it!”

Our happiness and peace of mind are largely determined by how effectively we close yesterday and tomorrow. Therefore, most of your thinking should be directed towards what you will do between now and when you go to bed.

Happy people don’t let past failures and problems, or worries about the future, plague them day in and day out. If you do, you’ll probably end up depressed, anxious, and frustrated, and that’s no way to live. Remember it This day It is the most important day of your life. So when you start to drift into the past or the future, get back to the present as quickly as possible.

hope for tomorrow

It’s not that the future isn’t important. It is, and you should prepare for it. Be prepared for it, but don’t worry about it, and don’t worry about it unnecessarily. Life is full of problems related to the future: financial problems, health concerns, worries about getting old. Some of these will happen (like getting older), but many of them will be nothing more than worries.

So force yourself to remain optimistic about the future, and the best way to do that is to encourage expect. Never lose hope; hope encourages you to set goals and strive to achieve them. It makes you optimistic and gives you faith in the future; It is what stimulates you. It makes you dream of better things and makes you feel good.

Anxiety, on the other hand, makes you depressed and frustrated. And it can easily get out of control. Anxiety feeds on anxiety, it’s a vicious circle. So get rid of it as fast as possible, and the way to do it is to fight against all the negative feelings and thoughts related to the future. Don’t be afraid of the future, look forward to it.
