Is Google against you?

What are they doing? Why don’t they make it easy for us? Is this a way to operate a railway? Are we being transported by rail? After all, imagine it’s 1880 and you live in central South Dakota, but you’re not happy with the train service. What are you going to do? Take the other train? That wasn’t an option then and it’s not an option now… but there are three different paths you can travel. Yes, for me there were more clues: article spinners, easy backlinks, keyword-packed blogs, third-world article writers, affordable AdWords, and banner ads. Now there are 3 viable options from Google. Which track will you take?

Google hint #1:

Article writing works for network marketing and mlm in several ways. The reader gets to know you a little. You can create curiosities and tempting offers in the author box. Things have changed…

Google has always said that it is about quality content. Is it now quality with length? Recent research shows that bots seem to like at least 1,000 words, giving them plenty of tasty morsels by which to judge an article to see if it’s worth exposure on Google Mountain, the mountain we’re all working to climb.

People still like 500 words or less when reading an article.

What about the volume? Should you write a lot? Or is the answer an occasional super quality? Should you write a 1000 word article that reads like a 500 word article and lots of it? What IS “quality”?

The best answer is to write some long articles and some short articles and follow them yourself. Keep up the quality. Not all items will be prize winners. However, there is no doubt: Google does not want garbage.

What about blog posts? “Don’t be a frog on a log in the fog – write 3 blog posts a day.” Everything said above about articles applies to blog posts.

Why 3 a day?

A company recently fired their SEO firm because they weren’t moving the needle. They decided to post 3 times a day on their blog for 50 days to see what would happen: it was a “Rocket Ride to Traffic”. It worked great. Yes, it takes time and discipline (but you want to win, don’t you)?

Google hint #2:

YouTube is owned and loved by Google. Jump on it. Why haven’t you been making You Tube clips? Are you worried about how you look? Are you worried about your background (your education AND what the camera sees behind you)?

Look, I recently took the time to review several videos of a very overweight guy filming in a bedroom with an unmade bed. He doesn’t have a particularly special education (he used to build websites, but that’s not what he talks about). One of his videos has 2 million views. He has more than 1.2 million followers. Why?

Well, he is completely honest about his struggles, challenges, obstacles, dreams, illusions, and his journey through life. What is he talking about? His life: what he is doing and what is happening in and around his life. He expresses honesty and passion in each video.

So if a fat man sitting in front of an unmade bed can do the numbers this guy is doing, maybe you can do 1/10 of that? If you did, you’d be rich!

Google hint #3:

Create niche websites that Google likes. Create a simple website. You can use Google Sites for this if you want, it’s free. Put twelve to fifteen 1000 word quality content articles on each website about that niche. Study long-tail keywords to find the niches that fit your purpose.

If you can find an expired domain that was once a niche-related website, it helps. You’ll end up with a beacon like a railroad lantern in the fog, something Google might find and like. Unlike a blog, these niche sites don’t need a constant stream of new content.

You can put a backlink on ONE of your website articles and there is a chance you will get a quality backlink IF you are not “the owner” of the niche site you created.

Google still likes quality backlinks and no longer considers links in an article like this (written by the website owner) to be “quality” for the purposes of search engine optimization of your site Web.

However, if Google likes the niche site you created on someone else’s behalf, they may count the backlink.

The main joy you will get from your new niche websites is clicks – people visiting your website. And that is now the only reason to keep writing articles like this.

Conclusion:

If you don’t like to write or don’t have someone to write for you for free or for little money, go to You Tube. Thinking of article software (spinners)? They are NOT an option anymore, no matter what sales pitch the people selling them are giving you.

They might work for a while, but Google will eventually slap you in the face. Focus on free resources when you can. Going with “free” when it makes sense will stretch your budget and therefore your ability to drive consistent traffic to your website. The good thing about Google is that they give away a lot of free stuff. Go find some.

Now look, I have 932 words… should I continue and you will continue reading?

Let’s see if I can create enough value for you: Two main things that Google gives away that most small businesses (of all stripes) don’t take advantage of stand out. The first is Google +, which used to be called Google places.

What matters is this: If you’re a local business, setting up Google + is free, fast, and will get you to the first page for local search. It’s worth it? At this writing, only 10% of companies have taken advantage of this. Yes, it is worth 20 minutes of your time!

The other last tip is Google’s social network. If you’ve never adopted Face Book, don’t worry: Google Circles is a better option in the future. Why? One simple reason: GC accommodates your efforts to meet new people (unlike LinkedIn, which tells you NOT to connect with people you are NOT friends with). It’s easy to make new friends with GC. (Now let’s see if Google likes this article.)

What’s better than free?
