In recent years many terrorist attacks are taking place. One can remember the terrorist attacks that were inhumane. In one of the most reprehensible incidents, an 85-year-old French priest was stabbed to death by a jihadist who claimed to be loyal to the Islamic State. The French declared an extension of the state of emergency but did not explicitly state that the attack was motivated by Islamic fundamentalism. The same has happened in Germany. many attacks by lone wolf extremist Muslim emigrants has caused revulsion and made the German people think. But Angela Merkel has not identified the source of these attacks as inspired by Muslim extremism. Therefore, there is a marked reluctance to name Islam as a source of terror. The reasons for this are myriad, but behind it is the fear that any identification of Islam as a source of terror could create further bloodshed.

Donald Trump was president but he lost the last election, he could have lost but he was a different cauldron of fish as evidenced by his statements. He differed from the Democratic Party whose leaders were hesitant to single out Islam as a motivating force for terror attacks.
Donald Trump as president, to the pain of many, clearly stated that Muslims are the source of terror throughout the world. He also praised Saddam Hussein as a man who knew how to deal with Muslim extremists like al Qaeda. Donald mentioned that Saddam didn’t read the terrorists the rule book, he just hanged them. He was an efficient killer of terrorists. Earlier, Donald had said that the world was a better place when Gaddafi and Saddam were around. I don’t think he can be blamed for this, as things in the Middle East were certainly better when the Gaddafi-Saddam duo were around.
Donald also stated that he would directly confront Islamic fundamentalism. He would ban Muslims from entering the US until they prove their bona fides. He would also take the battle to the extremists’ sanctuaries and destroy them. He would give the same treatment to Muslim extremists or jihadists as to his non-Muslim prisoners. These are strong statements and many in the US were against this rhetoric, but the average American identified with Donald.
The future
No one can forecast the future. Donald has lost and Biden is president.
However, Trump raised compelling points and whether they liked it or not, what he has said cannot be swept under the rug. Many claimed that Trump was a man with little knowledge and some have even referred to him as a buffoon. Is this a sad comment about the American people and does it mean that half the American people support a jester? Not likely and this blurb should be filed as unworthy of response. All said and done, Donald was the first man in the west to identify the source of the terror and that in itself is no feat.
