Some have said and continue to say to this day that the research and science to create ultra-long life spans or even immortality is unethical as it is playing god. Therefore, such research should not be allowed, nor should it ever be funded. I completely disagree with such a position and I denounce those who might base their false arguments on such an argument. Yes, this is a contentious topic, but of course, that’s why I brought it up to you today and why you read my articles so often. Now, let’s talk.

In the 2005 issue of “What is Enlightenment?” there was an interesting article starting on page 73 titled; “Against immortality” by Andrei Codrescu, and in this article there was a quote; “There is no scientific experiment that does not raise ethical issues in all aspects of its development,” and yet that comment bothers me. You see, that would depend entirely on one’s “version of ethics”, whether it be from a religious context or from the mind of the individual claiming some kind of foul play.

Also, it kind of stuns me to think that there are actually people who think that life extension medical research or the holy grail of “eternal life” medicine is somehow unethical. You see, it seems that people are quite okay with curing diseases, ailments, or conditions that cause the premature death of others, their family, or even themselves, while at the same time accusing life extension researchers of getting too close or cross. line of ethical inquiry.

I mean, do you think people like to get old, weak and unable to do the things they love, only to get so frail they perish? Because, that’s essentially what happens to everyone now, right? Is that fair, is it a good thing, how could it be, and what god in his right mind would want to kill every human on the planet like that? If people care about man becoming a god, and would rather have a fictional god for that reason, then perhaps what they consider to be unethical is irrelevant and shouldn’t even be discussed in the science of extension. life.

There is nothing wrong with wanting a loved one to be strong, healthy, and not die, just as there is nothing unethical about wanting to live forever. There is something in my opinion unethical about not wanting death to continue to plague humanity and inflict its pain on every person who has lived, is living, and may or may not live in the future. Please consider all this and think about it.
