Creating a beautiful master bath can be easy and inexpensive. Here are some quick and easy tips for creating a beautiful master bath for your own version of relaxation and pampering:

-Choose a calming paint color. Greens and purples are known for their calming influence. The blues can be very invigorating and revitalizing. Choose a paint color that makes you feel comfortable and relaxed. In most cases, painting a bathroom should only take about an afternoon, but it can have a tremendous impact.

-Upgrade your accessories. A quick and inexpensive update to any bathroom is to upgrade your towel rails, toilet paper holder, faucets, and light fixtures. Lowes and Home Depot have a nice updated accessory. The key to selecting your accessories is to match your metals. They should also match or coordinate with the metals in the rest of your home. Bronze, brushed nickel, and brushed chrome are the most up-to-date, but other finishes can work as long as they’re paired properly.

-Paint that old-fashioned dresser. If your vanity is in good condition but the stain is out of date, consider giving it a fresh coat of paint. Benjamin Moore has a couple of wonderful furniture paint products that will make that vanity look like it’s always been painted that new color. You can stick with the standard black or white or you can be more adventurous and choose a color that works well with the color of the wall and tile.

-Replace or frame that frameless mirror. A beautiful new mirror or some simple decorative molding can add a great touch of style. If you are not handy, I suggest you hire a good carpenter. It wouldn’t be too expensive to have the mirror framed and you can paint or stain it to match your vanity.

-Add some fabric. A simple valance, soft Roman shade, or even an upholstered ottoman or bench (if you have the space) can add sophistication and softness to the space. Fabrics are a great opportunity to add touches of color and style to your room.

-Update your towels. Just buying some decorative towels with a pop of color can add more style to your bathroom.

-Accessories, accessories, complements. As in any other room in the house, the accessories will finish off the main bathroom. A few beautiful sand-filled hurricanes, decorative potpourri, candles, or pebbles can add a touch of serenity. Coordinating wall art, wall sconces, or other wall décor that shows off your sense of style can complete the space. Even attractive lotion and perfume bottles can act as accessories. Treat the master bathroom the same way you would treat any other room when it comes to accessories.

Your new spa like master bathroom is just a bit of an effort. Enjoy creating a space in which to relax and pamper yourself.
