Injections to take before traveling to Kenya.

When planning your trip to Kenya, you should consider taking injections so as not to contract any diseases. Some parts of the country are more vulnerable to disease outbreaks, so you need to arm yourself with the necessary shots. The areas that are most prone in cities are slums like Kibera in Nairobi, where sanitation is very poor and lack of proper running water, always leading to outbreaks of typhoid and cholera. It is recommended to take these injections when visiting such areas and always remember to carry bottled water.

The other injection that you should also give yourself is malaria. This is particularly important when you visit the Kenyan highlands, such as the Rift Valley, Mount Kenya or Mount Elgon, as several cases have been reported in these regions.

There have been efforts by the Kenyan government to try to eradicate malaria by providing free medicine and this will really help reduce this disease.

Yellow fever is also prevalent in Kenya and what you can do to protect yourself from this is to inject yourself with yellow fever, which usually lasts in the body for a long time and is mainly recommended for travelers who plan to stay in the country for a considerable amount of time.

It is better to get the injections before traveling to Kenya because there is no certainty that you will get them in the pharmacies where you will be on tour.
