People will like to be treated with respect and those who are offended seek revenge. Therefore, a leader must treat all people with respect, otherwise they can assume there will be some active disrespect coming their way and maybe even a little sabotage. Once an organization collapses to the point where people are sabotaging success, all is lost and the team is no longer viable and therefore cannot win.
Most people believe that respect must be earned. Most believe that tolerances should be granted up to a certain point.
