The Kanto region is probably the best known region in the Pokémon world. Mainly because it was the first region discovered. The Pokémon Research Lab in the Kanto region is located in Pallet Town. Of course, the professor from the Kanto region is Professor Oak who studies the relationships between people and Pokémon. In the Kanto region, Trainers can receive one of three Pokémon to begin their journey from Professor Oak.
Trainers can receive the Poison Grass-type Pokémon, Bulbasaur. Bulbasaur is powerful because he can get various moves that can give the opponent status conditions. Bulbasaur evolved into Ivysaur and becomes even more powerful, eventually Ivysaur evolves into Venasaur, the third and final evolution of Bulbasaur. Venasaur is powerful and can hit opponents!
Then there is the fire-type Pokémon Charmander. Charmander is powerful, but Trainers will fight in Pewter City when they take on Gym Leader Brock, who uses Rock-type Pokémon. Charmander will evolve into Charmeleon, which packs a punch, but not as powerful as the latest Charmander evolution, Charizard. Charizard is powerful and can now use some flying-type attacks, as it is now a Fire-type Pokémon and a Flying-type Pokémon.
Last but not least is the Water-type Pokémon Squirtle. Squirtle is a good start to choose from, his power is fairly neutral and he becomes even more powerful when he evolves into Wartortle. Wartortle is powerful and, of course, can take out any type of fire. Squirtle’s latest evolution is the mighty Blastoise. Blastoise can take down the Pokémon League with the right training and strategy. Which one will you choose to be your starter in the Kanto region?
The Kanto region is also home to Team Rocket, the world’s largest Pokémon crime syndicate. Team Rocket has the goal of taking over the world by all means possible. The leader is Giovanni, who was the former Viridian City gym leader. He was a gym leader, so you can test out newly caught or probably stolen Pokémon to see how powerful they are. Other than that, the Kanto region has a lot of great sites, like the Safari Zone in Fuchsia City, trainers can catch new Pokémon with decent power in the Safari Zone.
