Spiders are one of the most widely distributed insects in the world. They can be found on every continent except Antarctica. There are at least 40,000 species of them. They have silk glands in their abdomens and also fangs that can inject venom. However, not all species are capable of secreting the silk thread with which they make their beautiful webs. Furthermore, all species do not bite, although there are some that are deadly poisonous.

If you look at the anatomy of a spider, you will find that its body could be divided into two parts. One is the cephalothorax and the other is the abdomen. The two join each other with a pedicel that is cylindrical in shape. Unlike many other insects, spiders do not have antennae. Most species have well-developed nervous systems. You will also find that they have no muscles to help them extend their limbs. Instead, they use hydraulics to do it.

Almost all spiders feed on insects and other spiders. They use several different tactics to catch their prey. The most common way is to spin their sticky webs and feed on the insects that get caught in them. The largest feed on birds and lizards. Since their intestines are narrow, spiders cannot eat solid food. Therefore, they digest the prey by flooding it with digestive enzymes and sucking out the juices. They also do not have true jaws.

When it comes to reproduction, males are forced to use various courtship tactics to avoid being eaten by females. With these methods, males are often able to mate a couple of times. The females lay eggs in special egg cases woven by them. When the eggs hatch and the young spiders emerge, the females take care of them. They feed and load them often. Normally, the lifespan of a spider is around three years. However, there are some species that have lived more than 25 years in captivity.

Some species of spiders are dangerously poisonous. However, research is being carried out to find the possibility of using it as a natural pesticide. The webs of these small arthropods are relatively strong, elastic and light. Experiments are underway to find out if there is any way to use them instead of synthetic yarn. Spiders are connected to human culture in many ways, which is why they are often used in art, movies, etc.
