Have you been to a car show lately? Most likely, all or a large portion of the proceeds from that car show will be donated to a local or national charity or community outreach program of some kind. Not only are car enthusiasts excited about their travels, they are also excited about helping others in need.
I recently reviewed over 300 car shows that were posted on a car show website, and found that more than 30% of those events are donating all or a good portion of their proceeds to a local or national charity. It is quite amazing and moving to see the generosity of auto enthusiasts and get a sense of the wonderful impact they are having on our communities and on the lives of people with special needs. If you take the 30% figure and multiply it by the thousands and thousands of car shows in the United States, you start to get an idea of the impact that auto enthusiasts are having in our country. What a great community outreach effort!
A big “thank you” to the auto show event organizers who have helped their communities and individuals in such a fun and family oriented way. Here is a partial list of some of the charities and organizations in the US that benefited from donations from car shows this year:
St. Jude Children’s Hospital

And the list goes on and on! The amount of money that has been donated to charities over the years from car clubs and show event organizers must be in the hundreds of thousands, if not millions.
So a big thank you to all the car enthusiasts who helped organize, participate or attend a car show that donated some funds to local and national charities. By working together, we can make a difference in our communities and in the lives of people who need help. The dollars donated have certainly saved lives, improved difficult situations, given hope, fed the hungry, helped strengthen the weak, found cures for feared diseases, helped families survive the hardships and tragedies of the life, and they have been a wonderful and much needed resource. for many, many charities. Keep lighting up those cars and bringing light and hope to others!
