When you make the decision to compete in your first figure competition, it can be a scary thought and confusing journey. Many first-time figure competitors read everything they can online in hopes of putting together the perfect figure plan. If they hit the peak week, they can spoil it all by making costly last-minute mistakes.

In this short, but informative article, I’m going to reveal to you the peak week tips of the competition so you don’t look like a sore thumb on stage or, worse yet, be soft like a baby’s bottom.

Tip No. 1: Your goal the last week before your figure contest is to simply score. All the fat burning work has been done during the previous months of preparation. Don’t go into peak week doing hours of endless cardio and high intensity workouts. This will only crush you when you are on stage.

Tip No. # 2: Your diet the last week before your figure competition will also be MUCH different from the previous months of figure prep. Peak week is not about losing fat, it is about exhausting your muscles so you can fill them up and it is about simple, natural water manipulation techniques to draw water from under the skin and into the muscle cells. This double action will give you that finely sculpted look that the judges love.

Tip No. 3 – Figure Competition Peak Week is a method that many don’t understand, and if you mess up the day before your competition, you’ll stick around the stage and smooth over. One thing you MUST NOT eat the day before or the morning of your figure contest is oatmeal! Oatmeal SPREADS in the water and will puff you up, soften you, and put you at the end of the line.

Tip No. # 4: Take Advantage Of Weight Training In The Last Week. Again, the peak week of figure competition is not about losing fat or gaining muscle. The last week’s workout should be a simple exercise to lower glycogen. The more glycogen you can pump out of your muscles, the better you’ll be able to pump your muscle cells when you implement a light carb-boosting tactic.

A peak week of the numbers competition is necessary, and proper implementation of the peak week will give you an unfair advantage on stage, showing the judges and the public that you are the best and should be selected as the winner.
